A Student’s Experience Here at LVA

    January 5th, 2012

LVA gave me confidence in my second language

Coming to the USA was certainly a great step in my life. I am a journalist and audiovisual communicator who graduated from college in Brazil. I first came to this country due to a job offer I got from YMCA’s office. Even though I had studied English for about 6 years previously, I figured out I should improve my language skills. The research I undertook showed me LVA School in Danbury was a possible choice.

I had good thoughts about the school when I entered for the first time and it came over from that morning when I first stepped inside the school to get information about the course, methodology, teachers, accommodation and price – of course.

The learning center is really well equipped with fast computers and good programs installed to offer all the support the students need. The classes are small enough and also built in a way that all students can have the same attention from the teacher. One other thing got my attention during my time at LVA School: the events the school promotes in order to stimulate relationship with people.

During those events – that could be a Christmas party, dinner or a trip – I realized LVA is not a simple school. It goes beyond, because it is committed to developing the students’ skills in many different ways. This makes me think that coming to school was not only to study, but to meet friends; people who care about others and are interested in finding ways to help them to reach their goals.

All the reasons above make me see LVA as a vivid experience of life, a place I in which I made friends, a school which prepares me to face my new life much more confidently dealing with the daily situations such as talking to my clients, organizing paper work at my job; organizing meetings; reading, writing and sending e-mails; being on top of my documentation and many other things.

At LVA I could feel my knowledge of a second language develop and I’m really thankful for everything I’ve learned and earned in the school. That’s why I really suggest to anyone who needs to improve their proficiency in English to go to LVA School in Danbury. I’m positive this will be as great an experience for them as it has been for me.

    Carlos
