What kind of school is the LVA School? We are an academic school. Most of our students want to continue their education, enter a profession, or become English teachers here or in their home countries.
What's it like to be a student here? It is academically strong, but very friendly and supportive. Classes are small and there is a great deal of participation by students.
Are all the teachers bilingual? Some are, but we discourage the use of foreign languages, even at the beginner level. After all, we are a school that teaches English.
Are all the teachers Americans? Most are native English speakers, but all of our teachers are highly competent speakers of English.
Do I get a certificate? Certificates are available at the completion of your studies.
Is there any extra help? Do I have to pay extra for it? Yes. Free extra help is available to full-time students on an appointment basis. There is no charge for it, but it is limited to two 50 minute sessions per week.
How long will it take to learn English? It depends on you. We test frequently, so we can show you your progress, but a lot depends on how hard you study and how much you practice.
Where do I park? We are conveniently located between two city parking garages.
Do you have computers for the students? Yes. We have a lab with ten computers on the internet. In addition we have four other computers located around the school. All are two years old or less. We also have a secure wireless connection for students who want to bring their own laptop.
